THREE CHOTEAU COUNTY BANKS CLOSE THURSDAY The First National Bank at Big Sandy, the Carter State bank of Fort Benton, and the Loma State bank, all Choteau county institutions, failed to open Thursday morning, July 5. These banks were principally owned by Davidson-Hegge interests. Big Sandy residents are said to have threatened Cashier Fred Miller, of the national bank there with bodily injury, but the threatened row was averted when the Big Sandy men learned that the closing order covered all three banks.

ACTION TO COLLECT FUNDS County Attorney W. S. Towner this week attached personal property of bondsmen of the Carter State Bank of Carter and the Loma State Bank at Loma. The amount of county money in the Loma institution was $6,600 while at Carter the county had $6,330 on deposit. In the case of the First National Bank of Carter, the deposit amounting to about $13,000 was largely covered, there being a $10,000 surety bond and the balance by personal bond.
