EDEN BANK ASKS FOR A RECEIVER The Eden State bank closed its doors last evening on account of not being able to secure enough cash to carry on the business of that institution. The directors at a meeting decided to close the bank and a receiver will be appointed to liquidate the business of the bank. As near as we could get at the facts from an official of the bank over the telephone, the assets are $133,000 and the liabilities are about $109,000. One of the directors stated that if the affairs of the bank are liquidated properly, dollar for dollar will be paid to depositors and stockholders. The inability of the bank to get a loan with which to carry on the affairs of the bank was the real cause of failure. The officers and directors are Floyd Brown, president; James L. Pelton, cashier, and the following directors, C. E. Summer, T. A. Teter, D. C. Montgomery, Scott Jones, all of Eden, and Q. R. Craft of Ogden.
