the late Edward Ryan. A special car has been chartered by the members of Calumet lodge F. & A, M., who will go to Houghton on Monday evening to confer the "M. M." degree for the benefit of Houghton lodge. The First National bank of Calumet suspended business between the hours of 10 and 11 o'clock this morning, in memory of the late Edward Ryan of Hancock, who was a director of the bank. Two cases of diphtheria were reported to Acting Marshal James Glasson yesterday. On inquiry it was learned that they were located outside of the village and the township health authorities were notified. The social given under the auspices of the Christain Endeavor society of the Calumet Congregational church last evening proved a very enjoyable one and was largely attended despite the coldness of the weather.
