from 1950 until early 1954, part of the period covered in the indictment. The other defendants were officials of the school district and two banks which Parr formerly headed. The banks, since liquidated. also were defendants They were the Texas State Bank at Alice, Tex., and the San Diego State Bank. Trial testimony brought out that the institutions were insolvent and the principal directors were listed as codefendants, The Texas State Bank was fined $2,000 on 20 counts and the San Diego State Bank $900, on nine counts. The other defendants drew sentences ranging from four years imprisonment to suspended sentences and fines up to $7,000.
