Mississippi Bank and Its Subsidiary Close JACKSON, Miss., Dec. 17-(P)The Bank of Batesville, at Batesville, Miss., and its subsidiary, the Bank Hope, at Hope Miss., temclosed doors and were taken charge of by State Bank Superintendent Love, after run on the Batesville bank. Superintendent Love declined to comment on the bank, or give any financial figures. "The Bank of Batesville failed. It isn't news any more" was his only remark. The statement on state banks issued yearly by the state banking department shows that the Bank of Batesville had capital stock of $35,000, surplus fund of $20,000 and resources of approximately $500, 000. Walter Pipkin was president and C. S. Smith vice-president.
