Senator John J. Tobin came in last evening from Montrose to take charge of the affairs of the Mesa County National bank as receiver, and the necessary receipts are being prepared today and Mr. Chapman will turn over the control to Mr. Tobin this evening. Mr. Chapman will remain here for a short time to assist in getting the new receiver well poised on the ropes and then will go to Denver to take charge of his insurance business. It has been rumored that he has been appointed to another position but he refused to either deny or affirm the truth of the rumors. The affairs of the bank at Clifton are practically settled.
