Ice cold keg beer on tap at Tom 11-tf Hooks' saloon. Johnathan Hoopes returned from a visit to Salt Lake city last Saturday. The Birdno building is being remodeled for the new furniture 34-tf store. Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Cromb returned on Saturday from a month's visit to Salt Lake. Ice cold milk shake and milk punch at Tom Hooks' saloon. 11-tf Bud Bassett came over from Willcox last Sunday and remained in Safford for several days. Say, we'll have it shortly, a complete line of furniture. Olney. 34-tf ljams Furniture Co. Word was received last Saturday that owing to the heavy rains work on the Roosevelt dam has been temporarily suspended by the contractors. Little damage was done by the floods as the company had sufficient time to move its derricks and other ma chinery and material from the path of the flood. Before buying wait and see the new stock of furniture that will be 34-tf opened up on Nov. 1st On complaint of Marsbal Robertson, Walter Truesdale was fined $5 on Saturday last for refusing to pay a license for running a lodging house. Mr. Truesdale had fitted up several rooms over the Birdno Bros. building for lodging purposes. He told the court that he was not running a lodging house, but plead guilty to the charge and the above fine was im. posed and paid. WANTED-Furnished rooms if Inquire at this office. Writing to THE GUARDIAN from Long Beach, Mr. J. M. Foster says: "I have been to see every large contractor in Los Angeles and find that all of them are getting hay in California and elsewhere. Hay is now $10 in Los Angeles, and I am told alfalfa hay 18 as cheap between here and Frisco. As we haven't much of a supply, I don't suppose it will affect us there. The weather is delightful here. Long Beach is growing fast. Had a run on the First National bank here yesterday and they had more than double amount necessary for all demands. so the run was a failure. Mr. J C. Pursley is in a new bank, The City National."
