WALNUT GROVE BANKS Still reposing in Mr. Johnson's office are checks for Holland bank depositors whom the commissioner has been unable to find. The checks, made out in 1931, total $616.62. If they are not claimed by next year, they will, under the law, go to the state finance department, and, eventually, into the state treasury. Mr. Johnson has two Walnut Grove banks—the Bank of Walnut Grove and the Citizens Bank of Walnut Grove—in the process of liquidation. Both banks closed their doors January 24, 1933. The former had claims filed against it totaling $63,888.31. Preferred claims—usually trust funds, such as school or road district money—were paid in November of last year, totaling $3572.25. Two 10 percent dividends, each totaling $6387.56, have been paid, both of them this year. There will be more CONTINUED ON PAGE C-TWO
