GALESVILLE BANK, FOUNDED IN 1883, OBSERVES JUBILEE Institution Founded By Isaac Clark Enjoys Steady Growth of Business GALESVILLE, Wis.β€”(Special)β€”The Bank of Galesville, founded in 1883 by Isaac Clark, this week passed its fiftieth anniversary of community service, and the management has received the congratulations of scores of friends. The institution has weathered one of the most trying situations in banking history, and opened with the first in the state after the recent bank holiday. The soundness of its credits has been an outstanding feature of its service since its institution a half century ago. Isaac Clark, who came to the settlement of Galesville in 1855, founded the bank in 1883 and served as its first president, in turn relinquishing that position to his son, the late Eugene Clark, who for more than thirty-five years was president of the institution. The bank has enjoyed a steady growth from its modest beginning with a capital of ten thousand dollars as a private institution, to a present rating of a million in assets.
