DINUBA CHAMBER OFFERS HELP IN REOPENING BANK Meeting Ends In Move To Aid Institution In Reestablishment DINUBA (Tulare March Support of the Dinuba Chamber of Commerce in assisting the United States National Bank, which was closed here Monday, was pledged by resolution last night, and a further meeting was to be held this afternoon. at which R. Foster Lamm, federal examiner in charge, was to asked to appear. Depositors Will Discuss Affairs Of Dinuba Bank DINUBA (Tulare Co.), July 28.Mayor H. Shouldice chairman of the depositors' committee of the United States National Bank which suspended here some time ago, has issued call for meeting of depositors to be held in local theater next Saturday afternoon. A disof leading up to the closing of the bank to be held and steps to protect depositors in closing the affairs of the institution will be considered. COURT NEWS PLAINTIFF WINS JUDGMENT On motion of counsel for plaintiff. agreed to by counsel for the defendant. Superior Judge J. A Allen this morning entered judg ment for $4000 plus attorney fees and costs against H H Moore and in favor of C. K. Newhall as receiver for the United States National Bank of Dinuba now in process of liquidation The case came to trial was to have been before a jury but the jury was waived and the defense waived claims. admitting the right to verdict in favor of the plaintiff To assist in regaining some of the funds lost in the bank failure at Dinuba some years ago the directors of whom Moore one, paid into the hands of the receiver $35,000 without any hope of receiving a cent back Mr Moore paid $5000 his share but he held to the belief it charged, that this money should be applied on notes he owed the bank This receiver declined to do and the bank receiver sued on the notes Mr Moore waived the defense he had set up. how ever and accepted judgment against him LeRoy of Dinuba represented the Burke of Farnsworth Burke Maddox of Visalia appeared for
