Personal and General George H. Stevenson, receiver of the Birmingham Savings bank, that failed several years ago, announces that he will pay a per cent dividend on July 9. This will be interesting to many who were involved in the failure of the bank. A number of stores have decorated their fronts in anticipation of the Fourth. The fire companies are also hard at work polishing and decorating. H. D. Keith, candidate for president of the city council, has filed his expense account in the probate court in Birmingham. The account totals $1725. Mr. Keith was the first of the candidates to file their account. There were two coroner's jurys in session in Bessemer today. One in the case of John Epps, the negro miner killed at Raimund, and the other in the killing of Sam Johnson. The jury in the Epps case was unavoidable accident and in the other murder. The funeral of little Lula Mehars, who died last night, took place today with Jacobs & son in charge. Interment was in Union cometern
