NORTH PLATTE MAN CONVICTED North Platte, Neb., Dec. 5. (AP)β€”Newton E. Buckley, former secretary-treasurer of the defunct Goodman-Buckley Trust company of North Platte and now an employe of the U. S. department of interior in Washington, was convicted today of embezzling $3,315 in company funds. A district court jury returned its verdict at 10:15 a. m. after deliberating the case 18 hours. The charge involved money Buckley allegedly drew from the Trust company to reduce his bank debt. The defense contended the company owed him the money. The company went into receivership in November, 1933.
