2 TEMPERANCE BANK DEFICIT IS $27,616 Receiver of Michigan Financial Institution Charges Discrepancies. MONROE. Mich. Aug. 5.-Liabil= ities of the Bank of Temperance, of Temperance, Mich., exceed its assets by $27,616.30, according to the report filed Thursday by A. J. Wiere of Monroe, who was appointed receiver on April 26. on petition of the heirs of a former partner of the bank. The receivership followed the robbery of the bank on Feb. 11. and losses at that time were partly responsible for the difficulties alleged. The report holds Samuel Wallace, president of the bank, responsible for an overdraft of $11,989. and charged other discrepancies aggregating $3,500. The cashier of the bank, son of the president. is held responsible by the receiver for accounts aggregating $7,000. The bank has 400 depositors and it is alleged by the receiver the cash assets when the bank was closed were $145.91, while liabilities to depositors were $7.469.34.
