Bernard Raymond, who is employed at Ontonagon will arrive Saturday to spend Christmas with his mother, Mrs. Raymond. Misses Doris Raymond, Maude Cameron and Mrs. Joseph. Cote were copper country shoppers last Friday. Miss Helga Beck, principal of the Gaylord school, will arrive today to spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Beck. Mrs. A. W. Crear of DePere, Wis., arrived Tuesday and will have charge of Fr. Douenberg's parish during his absence. M. L. Coon has installed a radio set and is enjoying concerts each night. Joseph Getzen returned Wednesday from a brief visit at the Soo. Messrs. Claude Willetts and Wm. Saarinen left Monday for Alston. Miss Agnes Engstrom left Monday for Marinette after a two weeks' visit in Baraga. Miss Elizabeth Hooper returned to Detroit Sunday after a brief visit here. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Rose and children of Pequaming were guests Monday of Mrs. Draper, Mrs. Rose's mother. S, H. Knisely of Houghton was a business caller here Tuesday. F. W. Schwalm's bonds as receiver of the Baraga Bank of H. R. Gladden have been approved and he has taken charge of the institution. Miss Ruth Anderson left Sunday for Roscommon, where she is teaching school, after a two weeks' visit here with her parents. Mrs. Owen Thomas and daughter Ethel of Baltic were guests Tuesday of Mrs. Wm. Johnston. Miss Helga Beck returned to Gaylord, where she is principal of the high school, after a two weeks' visit at her home in Baraga. Miss Leona Stratton left Monday fo rToledo, Ohio, where she is teaching. She visited here with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Stratton. John Greenblatt of Milwaukee, a former merchant of Baraga, arrived Tuesday for a few days' visit with old friends. Village Clerk Robert E. Martin has resignation and is succeeded by John P. Falk. H. Schroder of Ellis Junction was here this week loading out two thousand ties for the St. Paul railroad. ! The ties will be shipped to the treating plant at Grandville, Wis. John Markle was in L'Anse Tuesday attendance at a meeting of the Poor board.

Gladden, formerly doing business as the Baraga Bank of H. R. Gladden, in the Village of Baraga, County of Baraga, and State of Michigan: You are hereby notified that I, the undersigned, Fred W. Schwaim, have been appointed by the above Court Receiver of all the property and effects of the above named defendant, and have qualified as such Receiver.
