A BANK TO QUIT BUSINESS. The Eventful Career of n Louisville Concern About to Close. LOUISVILLE, Sept. 12.-The Louisville City National Bank, capital $200,000, surplus $10,000, after thirty-four years, is about to go into liquidation. The depositors will be paid in full almost immediately, and the stockholders will also come in for a considerable amount. The national bank was organized in 1865, and has in many ways an interesting history. In 1890 came the celebrated Pope steal. Pope was teller and got away with $70,000 of the bank's funds. The blow to the bank was a serious one. Much money was spent in trying to locate him. Another serious loss came in the Bartley Johnson failure. The bank suspended for a short time during the panic of 1893. The heavy tax on banks in this State has been too great a burden for the already weakened bank to bear, and President. Leech advised the liquidation,
