PRIVATE BANKER SUSPENDS. John H. Kingsbury, of Brockport, N. Y., Who Failed in 1892 Suspends Again. ROCHESTER. N. Y., Aug. 22-John H. Kingsbury's private bank at Brockport was not opened for business this morning. and a notice was posted to the effect that the bank had suspended payment. This morning a voluntary assignment of Mr. Kingsbury for the benefit of creditors was filed with County Clerk Hunt in this city. Benjamin P. Gleason and Harris Holmes. both of the village of Brockport. are named assignees. The assignment embraces everything "not liable to execution." A special despatch from Brockport says that the Habilities are supposed to be about $30,000. The bank has been in operation in Broekport a number of years. In 1892 Mr. Kingsbury made an assignment, and it is said that his liabilities at that time were $90,000. At that time hepromised to pay creditors cent for cent, and with the help of a wealthy relative in New York city kept his promise. It is reported that the present failure is due to complications arising from the first failure.
