LEXINGTON BANK DEFALCATION. Amount Stolen by the Assistant Cashier Not Exactly Known. LEXINGTON, Ky., January 8.-The excitewent over the detalcation iu the Lexington City National Bank by James G. Scrugham, now in Canada, is subsiding somewhat. Yet there is a good deal of uncertainty about the real amount with which he got away. The cashier, James M. Graves, asserts that he had full access to the vault and that the funds are found apparently correct, and that the loss cannot possibly exceed more than forty or fifty thousand dollars. The run on the bank yesterday was so promptly met that it didn't amount to much, and some quite heavy deposits were made by private parties. There is some uneasiness over the uncertainty as to whether credits have been given for heavy deposits prior to the fight of Serugham. The feeling still exists that the half of the crooked ness has not yet been discovered, leading to general lack of confidence and some worse suspicions.
