Description

Newspaper notices show the Ohio County Bank had been 'assigned' and an assignee (A. E. Pate) is conducting a master commissioner's sale to convert bank property to cash for distribution to creditors. No run or depositor panic is mentioned. This indicates the bank was in receivership/assignment and being wound up (closure). Dates: September term 1916 (assignment), notice dated Oct 13, 1916, sale set for 1916-11-06. I classify cause as 'other' because the notices do not specify the triggering cause (insolvency/embezzlement/etc. not stated explicitly).
