Bank of Luverne Fails to Open for Business LUVERNE, Sept. 21.-The Bank of Luverne, a private institution, failed to open its doors this morning. A notice appeared on the door dated Sept. 19 stating that G. S. Buchanan had been appointed receiver, according to an order by the Kossuth county court. This bank was organized in 1885. Fenton Bank Closes. FENTON, Sept. 21.-The board of directors of the Fenton State bank ordered the institution closed today following a two day run. The bank is capitalized for $25,000 and had a surplus of $25,000. Mike Weisgrot is president and S. C. Ealy, cashier.

HANNA OF LUVERNE DIED MON. LONG ILLNESS Special the LUVERNE, Scott Hanna, well known banker, had lived in LuVerne his entire life, died his home Monday morning, November 19th, at eight o'clock. He years old. During the past six months he had been confined in his home but not taken critically 111 until Saturday For several years had been 111 with hardening of the arteries and complicating Mr. Hanna the only son the late George W. and state Hanna. He born in pers May 1887. After graduating from high school he tended college Cornell and Iowa State College at Ames, from the college the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Following graduation are from college he returned LuVerno an dassisted his father his bank, Bank of LuVerne" the death of his father in 1818, became manager of the bank and the many acres Iowa farms owned by the estate. He continued this work until September 1931, when the bank closed. Scott Hanna single man and his sister Consuela Hanna, also attorney, lived in Eggs, spacious Hanna residence Hens, His mother preceded Hens, him in death in 1931, and he Hens, survived by his three sisters: Consuela at home, Geneva Hanna Swisher of Iowa City, and Eugenia Hanna Robertson of Mexico; one Georgia of Mexico, and Cox, three nephews, RobertCox, Scott Swisher and Robert Corn, Swisher, Iowa City. Funeral services have not been arranged at this writing. Mrs. Swisher of Iowa City, arrived New LuVerne Monday. The dog was stray and had bitten five three dogs and three cats on the Wright farm.
