Hot Bath Good for Badly Chilled Lamb Rub Dry and Give It Feed as Soon as It's Revived If lambs are born when the weather is cold there will probably be some chilled lambs, but as long as life is not extinct in the chilled lamb, there is hope that he will live if properly cared for, according to J. C. Holbert, of the Animal Husbandry Department at Iowa State College. One of the best ways to proceed with a young lamb If it is badly chilled is to immerse all but its head in warm water. As the water becomes cool, hot water should be added to maintain the proper temperature. The purpose of the bath is to start and to invigorate the blood circulation. When the lamb becomes somewhat lively it should be removed from the water, Holbert says. Then it should be wrapped in a large towel and rubbed briskly until dry. It should then be fed and placed in a warm place for its sleep. If the lamb is not so badly chilled as to require the bath, it may be revived by wrapping it well and giving it a stimulant. One important thing to remember about chilled lamb, Holbert cautions, is that it should be fed as soon as it has been revived. The lamb should be kept away from the mother no longer than is absolutely necessary, because of the danger of her refusing to own it if It has been away from her very long. "Castles in Spain" The expression, "castles In Spain," is from the expression Chateau en Espagne, found in 1400. 1600, occasionally as a Gallicism In modern times. It appears that the phrase at bottom meant only to build castles in foreign country where one had no Spain being finally taken as the nearest Moorish country to Christendom, or perhaps with some reference to the arms of Castile.
