Cases Dismissed in Cedar County Court TIPTON, Ia., Sept. 17.β(Special)βThe petit jury, which reported Monday for service during the September term of the Cedar county district court, was dismissed until Thursday of this week after a number of cases which had been scheduled to come before it were dismissed or settled by agreement of the parties involved. Cases considered in the district court Monday included D. W. Bates, state superintendent of banking, versus the Cedar County State bank of Tipton. The receiver filed an application in which he seeks a court order to compromise, settle or sell the remaining personal assets of the bank, including the unpaid stock assessments. The hearing on the application was set for 9 o'clock Saturday morning, Oct. 5. Melvina Leabo Struve of Durant was granted a divorce from her husband, Julius C. Struve. She was also granted the custody of their two minor children, half their savings account, the family car and the major portion of the household goods. The defendant was granted a number of household articles and permission to see his children from time to time. He is required to pay the sum of $20 for their care monthly for the next three years. Cave Makes Farmer Wealthy GALENA, Mo.β(United Press)βWally Powell a year ago owned only his farm, but that was before he found a cave on it. Since then, visiting tourists have paid Wally's mortgage, and he has run his land holdings to 1,600 acres.
