Description

The First National Bank of Bardwell closed in late January 1932 (articles give Jan 27 and Jan 28). An April 12, 1932 article reports plans to re-open, but a 1933 article shows the bank was in receivership and the receiver was suing on notes — indicating the bank did not successfully resume long-term operations. No run is mentioned in the articles; cause of suspension not stated in the texts.
