RECEIVER FOR LYNDON BANK IS APPOINTED Ezra Mathews of Sterling to Have Charge of Institution-Ask for All Check Books. (Special Correspondence.) Sterling, Jan. 28.-Ezra Mathews of this city has been appointed temporary receiver of the First State Bank of Lyndon by State Auditor of Public Accounts Andrew Russell. The condition of the institution will be carefully probed by Mr. Mathew. Mr. Mathew as receiver has notified all persons having pass books, savings books and certificate of deposit to present them at the bank for verification. He has also asked that persons having safety deposit boxes or packages left in the bank for safe keeping to call at the bank and examine them. All persons holding receipts for papers are also requested to present them so that a check may be obtained on these. Not until a thorough check has been made on these pass books and other receipts will it be possible io know just how large the shortage will be at that bank. s Change Shoot Date. The Sterling Rod, Reel and Gun club met last night and decided that during the coming season they will hold trap shoots every other week instead of every Sunday as they did during the past year. It is expected that the Prophetstown club will run shoots on the Sundays opposite the ones on the local club shoots.
