Moore Bank Receiver Named by Piatt Court F. L. Borton of Monticello Posts $10,000 Bond in Action Monticello- L. Borton was appointed receiver for the Moore State bank in riatt circuit court Thursday by Judge J. L. McLaughlin in the case of Rose Holderman against the bank. Under the terms of the receivership Borton may accept payments from those stockholders who wish to pay on their liabilities. He posted a $10,000 bond. The divorce suit of Merriman vs. Merriman and the case of W. A. Doss VS. N. E. Hutson, trespass, will be heard in court Monday. A petition to strike a counter claim in the Merriman case was allowed Thursday and the case set for trial on the original bill and answer as they were filed. Two other cases dsposed of by the court Thursday were: E Morgan was appointed guardian the the ceiver in the case of Buchanan vs. Vroothe Gorman vs. Arnold case and the Doss Haynes case the cause of action was settled and the suits dismissed.

Piatt Divorce Suit Settled Out of Court Merriman Case Stricken from Docket After Agreement. By Staff Correspondent MONTICELLO-Th divorce case of Charles Merriman against his wife Neele P. Merriman was stricken from the docket of the Platt county circuit court by Judge McLaughlin here Friday when stipulation filed revealing that settlement had been made out of court. Settlement of the case by arbitration somewhat of surprise. had complicated litigation by filing in bankruptcy shortly after the divorce action was begun and the case had dragged along in the local court for months while attorneys for both sides fought battle with amendments and continuances. According to the agreement reached Merriman will contribute $12.50 week for the support of his wife until further order by the court. Granted Probation Claude Workman was given bation by the court grand larceny charge to which he pleaded guilty several days ago. He is to pay costs of the in Instalments during his probation. In the ejectment case of Doss against M. Marker et motion was allowed the defendant for 10 days extended time in which to plead. receiver's bond was filed and approved in the case of Susan R Eubanks al John H. Eubanks et This suit to set aside deed and being appealed from decision given recently in the circuit court here Hearing on motion filed in the complaint of Robert Bartlett B. Van R. Mrs. Briles has filed bill for divorce in the circuit court.

PIATT COURT IN 3-DAY SESSION Sealed Verdict Returned in "One Horse Case" Against B. & O. Railroad By Staff Correspondent MONTICELLO A number of jury trials were disposed of in a three-day session of the Piatt county circuit court here this week before the court was adjourned to June 28. Judge J. R. McLaughlin presided over the first session of the June term which began here Monday. The appeal case of Arch M. Ryan against the B. & O. railroad was given six-man jury just before court adjourned. sealed verdict was returned to be read at the next day of court. The case was characterized the "one horse case" in that it involved the killing of some of Ryan's livestock by B. & O. train The appeal case of W. F. Lamkin vs. Charles Slater was settled and the suit dismissed at the cost of Lamkin. Damages of $75 were assessed against Frank Morgan by a jury in an automobile accident case that had been filed against him by Opal Sebens. The case was an appeal from a justice of peace court. The jury verdict in favor Mrs. D. W. Wack of Mansfield who was being sued in an appeal case by Robert Dresback of Deland for damages to his car as the result of an accident. A mandamus suit of W. F. Burnette against the Piatt county board of supervisors settled at Burnette's costs and stricken from the docket. In the foreclosure suit of Eva Brown et al vs. Guy W. Quick et al, the master in chancery's report of sale was filed and approved and decree was issued approving deficiency of $251.96. J. B. Byerline was appointed receiver on approval by the court of bond for $1,000.
