Benefit Share Promised
At the committee's first meeting Farm Adviser V. D. Evans explained that current prices on corn and hogs may drop unless virtually all farmers take part in the 1935 corn-hog program.
Effingham county farmers can by signing up not only protect their business but also share in benefit payments of about 60 thousand dollars, the farm adviser said.
According to Mr. Evans it may be more difficult to induce farmers to co-operate this year as prices are much higher than last season. However, he warned, a surplus of corn this fall, followed by a heavy hog production, would certainly make for a drop in prices.
