Reports Liberty Bank Fails to Open Doors for Business Today

The Liberty Bank. located at Liberty. in Pickens county. failed to open its doors today. according to information reaching this city. D. E. Bush. cashier, said in a long distance telephone conversation with The Piedmont that the bank's deposits had been diminishing for the past 60 days and the officials deemed it best to close the bank. The bank was not closed by the bank examiner and officials of the bank hope that the closing is only temporary, it was Nothing resembling a run on the bank occurred, Mr. Bush said, but the small flow of incoming money and the ordinary amount of withdrawals led to the decision to close the bank for a time
