Decision Favoring Bank Conservators Is Affirmed
Columbia, S. C., Feb. 15.β(AP)βThe state supreme court today affirmed a Richland circuit court judgment for Simpson J. Zimmerman and J. Roy Barron as conservators-receivers of the Central Union bank of South Carolina in an action brought by Robert M. Kennedy, of Greenwood, over a bond transaction.
Kennedy, the opinion set forth, asked F. E. Grier, executive officer in charge of the Greenwood branch of the bank, to purchase three United States treasury bonds, at par value of $100 each, Kennedy's deposit to be charged with the cost of the bonds.
Before the transaction was completed, the opinion said, the Central Union Bank suspended business, and no debit was entered against the plaintiff's account for the bonds.
