DREW GETS NEW TRIAL. Hamline Banker's Case Acted. Upon by Supreme Court. Minneapolis, Feb. 26.-A. Z. Drew, the Hamline banker, convicted and sentenced to two years' imprisonment for receiving deposits when he knew his bank to be insolvent was granted a new trial today by the state supreme court. The lower court is held to have made errors in charging the jury, and also in receiving as evidence Drew's schedule of liabilities and assets, filed by him in bankruptcy proceedings. It is held that this schedule was required by law, but could not be used against the maker of it. Mr. Drew was president of the Bank of Hamline, which suspended business last year and is still in liquida tion. He was convicted in the district court of Ramsey county.
