Postmaster Nicholson declares that a general feeling of safety in public institutions prevails in the county. and that people generally are bringing in their gold in small and large accounts as a patriotic move rather than to escape punishment for hoarding. Deposits in the Transylvania Trust company for the first day after the banking holiday exceeded withdrawals on a five-to-one basis, Mr. McDaniel said.
