Tar Heel Bankers To Pay Losers Big Sum B. and C. M. Schlichter. former president and cashier respectively of the defunct Bank of Hollister in Halifax county may escape prison terms by paying to the bank's receiver $12,000. Found guilty last week of violating the state banking laws sentence was withheld until this week A. B. Schlichter was sentenced by Judge Albion Dunn to serve three to five years in state prison while his son, O. M. Schlichter was given sent ence of two to three years. The men were held responsible by the court for $24,000 of the bank's funds and the sentences were suspended upon payment of the money to the receivers for the institution Twelve thousand dollars was paid by them immediately after being sentenced and they were given until January 1927 to ma ke good the balance.
