DIVIDENDS CHECKS READY FOR FOUR DEFUNCT BANKS RALEIGH, March 30.β€”(AP)β€”Dividend checks aggregating $38,659.38 have been sent to liquidating agents of four defunct banks to pay to 2,099 depositors and other creditors Monday, Gurney P. Hood, state bank commissioner, said today. To 319 depositors and creditors of the Bank of Fletcher went $2,911.62 as a 5 per cent dividend, making 35 per cent, or $20,050.47, paid them since the bank closed in 1932. The 507 depositors and creditors of the Farmers and Traders bank of Weaverville will get $7,544.28 as a 5 per cent payment, making 15 per cent, or $22,439.90, paid them since the institution closed in 1933. Three hundred and twenty six creditors and depositors of the Farmers Bank and Trust company at Madison will get a 20 per cent dividend of $16,312.52 to make 50 per cent, or $70,748.33 paid them since 1931. For 947 depositors and creditors of the Bank of Alexander at Taylorsville, which closed in 1932, checks for a 10 per cent payment, the first dividend, were mailed.

BANK DIVIDENDS WILL BE FINAL Depositors At Fletcher And West Asheville To Be Paid Final dividends to depositors in the defunct Bank of West Asheville and the Bank of Fletcher will be paid before January 1, A. M. Burns, liquidating agent, announced yesterday. About $20,000 or almost 6 per cent will be paid depositors in the Bank of West Asheville, making 11 per cent in all that these depositors will have realized. The dividend to depositors in the Bank of Fletcher will be 2 1-2 per cent, making 42 1-2 per cent total realized for depositors from liquidation. Mr. Burns yesterday sold the final batch of assets in the defunct Farmers and Traders' Bank of Weaverville to W. W. Shope of Weaverville for $680. The face value of the paper was about $100,000. C. W. Smith recently purchased the remaining assets of the Bank of West Asheville, paying $1,565 for
