LOST ON CATTLE. Dexter Banker's Peculations Amount to Over $15,000. Attorney General Godard prepared an application to the district court of Cowley county for a receiver for the Dexter State Bank today. Bank Commissioner Albaugh, who has just returned from there says that the examination shows Cashier Watkins' accounts short over $15,000. Watkins tried to tide over the examination of his bank by making arbitrary charges. on customers' accounts so that his deposits showed $24,000 when they really footed $40,000. The deputy examiners penetrated one or two of the false entries on Monday afternoon and Watkins admitted to them. They quit the examination for the day and sent for President Merydith to be present when the work was resumed in the morning at 7:30 o'clock. Watkins went to the bank at 6 o'clock next morning and shot himself in the building before the others arrived. Watkins was involved in cattle deals and it is presumed his defalcations were used up in that business.
