ATTICA BANK ALL RIGHT. Telegraphic reports yesterday morning announcing the failure of the Attica State bank, prove to be erroneous. It appears that one of the small local stockholders, desiring to be employed at a salary by the bank, in a position for which he was regarded as incompetent, swore vengeance against the bank and made the proper affidavit, upon which exparte showing-without any notice whatever to the other stockholders-got a receiver appointed who appeared upon the scene very suddenly after the bank was closed for the day on Saturday and took charge. Shortly after the usual hour of opening on Monday morning the matter had been adjusted and the bank restored to its former management and running as usual. A dispatch from Mr. Jobes last evening stated that their deposits yesterday were three times the amount of all checks. All their checks were duly honored yesterday by the Wichita Clearing House, and will continue to be. These facts in regard to the occurrence were furnished by parties in the city last night who claimed to be fully advised of all the circumstances.

Bank Failure Canard. WICHITA, Kansas, Feb. 19.-The reported failure of the Attica (Harper county) State bank for $50,000 is a mistake. The bank is perfectly solvent and is doing business as usual today. A disgruntled stockholder, who had been deposed from the board of directors, applied for a receiver, and the judge before whom the application was made granted the request without investigating the matter, thus creating some uneasiness.
