4 NEWS OVER PHONE. + +++++++++++++++ Wynnewood. We are glad to learn that Jack Cox is improving. Our cotton buyers were paying lively prices for cotton yesterday afternoon. Seed cotton sold as high as 3.30. Yesterday at about dusk the wind and dust blew at a lively gait. Gilsonite. Dr. Slover of Sulphur was here this morning to see Mrs. E. W. Young, who was quite sick. Mrs. Tanner's little child is reported quite sick. Madill. The Madill National bank has opened for business. Misses Ella and Della Scrivner of Itasca, Texas, are here visiting Mrs. Summers Hardy, Mrs. Hardy gave a reception in their honor last night. Oakland. W. P. Blanton was here last night from Ardmore. Miss Louise Chapman of Ravia is here visiting the family of Capt. R. C. Wiggs, Woodville. J. A. Horton died Thursday at this place. The remains were buried Friday under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity. Mrs. Bragdon, who has been sick for some time, is now on the road to recovery. An Indian school is being established here. It will be known as the Woodville Academy. About 150 students are expected to attend. A great deal of cotton is coming in. Cotton picking will be finished by the end of September. Water is failing everywhere in this section. R. A. Owens left today for the St. Louis market. Miss Laura Carpenter has arrived here from Maimi, Mo., to begin her duties as teacher in the Indian school. Ravia.. Prof. Hotchkin of Durant is in town. George Duncan is here today. The young people of Ravia have organized a social and dancing club with the following officers: Mr. Leitvell, president; Dr. F. J. Baum, vice president; C. H. Fisher, secretary; Mrs. F. J. Baum, treasurer, and W. C. Stevens, Jack Kemp and J. W. Leeper managers. Seed cotton is selling here today at from 3 to 3.05. Lint cotton 8 to 8ยฝ. The gins are running full time. Tishomingo. Charles Stevens left today for his old home in Tennessee. He is not expected to return a single man. Several members of the Indian police arrived today to be present during the coming session of the legislature. Several deputy marshals are also bound over in the sum of $200. Jackson Pool was before Judge Gullett today for stealing a hog. He was bounr over in the sum of $200. Our people look forward to the coming session of the legislature with considerable excitement. Durwood. Henry Scott went to Ardmore today. Berwyn. Seed cotton is selling today at from $2.85 to 2.871/2. About thirty bales were sold here today and sixty-two bales yesterday. Marietta. Blackburn & Jones are moving into their new building today. R. G. Davis shipped three carloads of cattle to Kansas City today. We have received 750 bales of cotton to date.
