APPROVES TAX DISTRIBUTION State Auditor Checks Wells County Settlements. Bluffton, Ind., June 23.-The state auditor has notified County Auditor Paul Scott of approval given to the settlement sheet for Wells County on the spring collection of taxes. The settlement sheet as approved by the state auditor shows that taxes totaling $269,227.70 were collected in this county, and this amount was distributed to the various taxing units as follows: Jackson Township, 19; Center, $12,746.60; Liberty, $10,836.8 Nottingham, $14,348; Rockcreek, $8,898.65: Union, $12,331.98; Jefferson, $16,549 05: Lancaster, $18,444.4 Harrison, $9,576.17. The Bluffton schools received $25,825 70 and the civil city received $16,978.75. Small towns in the county received the following amounts: Poneto, $216.71: Unionsian. $2,209.44 and Vera Cruz, $13.20 Lodge to Be Installed. Next Wednesday evening. June 27, the new Knights of Pythias lodge will be instituted at Uniondale with at least fifty-seven members. He will have the north part of the state as his territory Miss Ida Thomas. retired city school teacher, has filed suit in Circuit Court here against the Hoosier Condenser Milk Company to have the court set aside a judgment taken against her in the sum of $200. The case grows out of the defendant's suit against stockholders of the defunct Wells County Bank. Miss Thomas in her complaint recites that the case against the stockholders was filed May 9, 1929, and that default by her was entered of record as of May 26, 1932. She avers that despite the default, the effect of which was not apparent to her at the time, she has meritorious defense, and she asks that judgment be set aside, that she may submit her defense. Judge Tharles Ryan. Fort Wayne, is special judge the case.
