KoKoMo, Ind., Oct. 3.-The banking house of Russell, Dolman & Co., one of the pioneer institutions of this part of the State, has announced that it will retire from business, and is settling up its affairs. This house, in connection with the grain business, began operations in the early forties under the firm name of Jay, Russell & Dolman, with Thomas Jay president, being started in Jonesboro, and later moved to this city. It was converted into a national bank in 1868, but ten years ago resumed its private banking business. The head of the firm, Ithamer Russell, died six months ago, and the suspension of business is for the purpose of dividing the property among the different heirs. This leaves Kokomo with but two banks, the Howard National and the Citizens' National.
