CASHIER ABSENT BANK IS CLOSED Expert Accountant at Work on Bank of Sulphur Rock Books. E. M. FORD LEFT A NOTE Directors Preferred to Close Doors Until Statement of Facts Can Be Made. Sulphur Rock, Aug. 13.-An expert accountant is busy checking up the books of the Bank of Sulphur Rock. the doors of which were closed a few days ago by the directors, who preferred to suspend uptil the true situation is ascertained. Thursday morning one of the officers of the bank found a note fron E. M. Ford, the cashier, who has practically had charge of all the affairs of the institution, that he had gone to Missouri to take his family for a vacation. A meeting of the directors was called and it was decided to suspend and secure an expert to check over the accounts. The officers of the bank are among the most substantial men of the community and it is not believed the depositors will lose if the bank proves insolvent. Nothing has been heard from Mr. Ford since he left, and the officials of the bank decline to give out anything until the expert accountant makes a report. The bank's suspension will not affect any of the other financial institutions of the county.
