Description

No newspaper text describes a run. 1910 article documents the bank reopening in temporary quarters while a new building was erected. 1923 article states the Citizens' Bank & Trust Company had closed its doors and was bankrupt with a receiver handling assets (collateral sale reported). Dates of the original suspension/closing and receivership are not provided; the 1923 article reports a collateral sale by the state treasurer and refers to the receiver of the bankrupt institution. Classified as suspension_closure because the bank closed and had a receiver assigned, and there is no evidence of a depositor run in the provided articles.

CITIZENS BANK IN FIRST NATIONAL TEMPORARY QUARTERS ARE OCCUPIED TO AWAIT COMPLETION OF THE NEW BUILDING. Temporary quarters for the Citizen's Bank and Trust company have been secured in the First National Bank building. The bank fixtures, or part of them. were moved in last night and the bank will re-open there today. Room for them to transact business was made by taking out some of the fixtures of the old First National, whiche have been disposed of by Receiver O'Connels. The Citizen's bank is now situated directly across from where its new home is being erected. Work of laying the concrete foundation for the new building has been started. A steamoperated concrete mixer is now running full blast every day on Subway street.

DEFUNCT BANK'S COLLATERAL IS SOLD AT NICE PREMIUM When the Citizens' Bank and Trust company closed its doors in Bisbee, it carried a state deposit of $7200, secured by deposit with the state treasurer of $8,000 par value of Mohave county courthouse bonds. These bonds have just been sold by Treasurer Wayne Hubbs to a Prescott bank at a premium of $200. That amount in excess of the state's claim for principal and interest will be turned over to the receiver of the bankrupt institution.
