I., Jan. 20.-The Centerville Savings bank was the scene of a run here, the trouble starting, according to the officials, from a groundless rumor which had circulated among the mill operatives and farmers. About $3,400 was withdrawn before the depositors, noticing that their demands were quickly met, went away satisfied that their savings were in safekeeping.

RUN IS OVER. Centerville Savings Bank Meets All De. mands With $3400. Centerville, R. 1., Jan. 20.-The run which commenced on the Centerville Savings Bank, yesterday, was practieath. over, today, when the institution onened its aloors. It was stated that business was progressing in a normal manner. Many inquiries were made during the early morning as to the financial condition of the bank. The result of the inquiries evidently satisfied the questioners. Yesterday's run started through a rumor without foundation, in fact, and $3400 had been paid out before the depositors recovered from their fright.
