THOSE LITTLE COUNTRY BANKS Went Down Like a Row of Bricks After the Columbia Failed. INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., May 12.-Reports from various small places in the State show that a panic has seized the smaller banks. The bank at Moreystown is said to have failed. Its capital is $75,000. CINCINNATI, O., May 12.-The private banking firm of Dwiggins, Starbuck & Co., of Williamsburg, O., has failed. The assignment was caused by the failure of the Columbia Bank of Chicago, of which Mr. Dwiggins was president. About $8,000 is due the Williamsburg Bank from the Columbia, all of which, it is thought, will be lost. GENEVA, Ind., May 12.-The Farmers' and Merchants' Bank closed its doors today. The sheriff has gone to Dunkirk to levy on all available property of the bank, which is owned by Dwiggins Starbuck & Co. of Chicago. Its liabilities are at least $75,000. TOLEDO, O., May 12.-The Ottawa county bank at Elmore, a branch of the Chicago Columbia, has closed the doors. The bank officials are not to be found. CHARLEROIX, Mich., May 12.-W. P.
