AN AMELIA BANK FAILURE. The Planter's Bank at Amelia Courthouse Suspends. [Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.) AMELIA C. H., Va., January 13, 1890. The Planter's Bank of this place suspended to-day and made an assignment to R. G. Southall, trustee. This event was most unexpected and the whole community is utterly surprised. There has been no accurate statement yet of the affairs of the bank. The impression is, however, that the depositors will all be safe in the final result.

The Planters' bank at Amelia Court House has suspended and R. G. Southall has been appointed receiver. It is probable that the Virginia branch of the Baltimore and Ohio railroad will be discontinued from Natural Bridge to Lexington and run to Salem instead.
