Ex-Treasurer Huston's Bank Fails. Connorsville, Ind., Feb. 5.-The Citizens' bank, owned by ex-United States Treasurer J. N. Huston, assigned this morning. All the depositors will be paid in full.
BRIEF TELEGRAMS. Chicago, Feb. 5.-After an illness of nearly a month Dr. Justin A. Smith, editor of the Standard, died last evening. Dr. Smith was 76 years old and for almost two-thirds of his life served as editor of the leading Baptist denominational paper in the West. London, Feb. 5.-The press association announces the Scotch oil combine has completely dissolved with heavy losses to investors and the Standard oil company is again master of the situation. Rome, Feb. 5.-Rev. Father Hoban has been appointed bishop of Scranton, Pa. Connersville, Ind., Feb. 5.-The Citizens' bank, owned by ex-United States Treasurer Husted, assigned this morning. Lady Jane Francesca Speranza Wilde, widow of Sir William Robert Wills Wilde, M. D., surgeon oculist to her majesty in Ireland, and mother of Oscar Wilde, is dead.
