Bank Receiver. NEW YORK, Dec. 22.-Leo Dessaure has been appointed receiver for Leonidas M. Lawson, George G. Simpson. and the firm of Donnell. Lawson & Simpson, bankers, on supplementary proceedings connected with an old matter on application of the First National bank, Fort Scott, Kansas, and Edwin R. Chenault, on judgment for creditors.

The schedules of Jones & Birdeall. ship chandlers. at 203 West street. show liabilities. $33,397; nominal assets. $22,638: actual assets. $13,990. The individual schedules of Samuel E. Birdsall show liabilities. $10.424: nominal assets. $23.376: actual assets. $2,380. James o Cleaveland. dry goods merchant at 337 Broadway. made an assignment yesterday to George H. Bayne. Dessar has been appointed receiver for the firm of Donnell, Lawson & Simpson, bankers, on supplementary proce dings connected with old matters, on application of judgment creditors. ST. PAUL, Dec. 22.-Negotiations are pending at Butte. Mont., for the settlement of the celebrated Davis will case, which it is stated will never come to trial again. It is said in three weeks all the details will be perfected. ULTIMA THULE (Ark.), Dec. 22. - WIII Lancaster was shot and instantly killed last night by a constable who was attempting to arrest him. Lancaster was a desperate criminal and had been a fugitive from justice for many years.
