AUBURN. Bank Matters. LEWISTON, April 5. There was a large meeting of depositors of the Auburn Savings Back. to-day, to consider what course the bank should take in view of the tendency of the depositors to withdraw their deposits in consequence of efforts to discredit the bank. The bank examiner presented a list of the assets of the bank consisting almost entirely of bank stock and loans on mortgages and collaterals showing a surplus of $4,471 after paying all the depositors, provided the bank is not called to make needless sacrifices to meet the calls of the depositors. After a full discussion it was unanimously voted that the depositors have entire confidence in the management of the bank and the adequateness of the assets to pay every dollar of the deposits with interest. Every depositor present withdrew his notice for withdrawal of deposits, and piedged themselves to use their influence to have others do NO.
