Ask Liquidators to Turn Over Monies
A resolution authorizing and requesting the liquidators of the Bank of Lancaster and the Bank of Depew, both in liquidation, to turn over to Supervisor Harold B. Davis such amounts of the funds that are now due the village, was passed at the meeting Monday of the town board. The resolution was presented by Councilman Julius Volker.
The funds were withheld pending the outcome of litigation over payment of franchise tax before the banks closed their doors. The decision of the court was favorable to the town.
Town money in the Bank of Lancaster amounts to $4,470.02, the amount due being 55 per cent. Deposits in the Bank of Depew total $7,105 of which 25 per cent is due.
