Anniston (Ala.) Bank Failure. The Bank of Anniston, Ala., a state bank, of which Frank Nelson, Jr., was president, has assigned to W. F. Stringfellow, president of the First national bank. The bank had a capital of $85,000. President Nelson, in an interview, stated that therewere about $24,000 of general depositsand $13,000 time deposits. As assets there are $6,000 in cash: loans and discounts amounting to $73,000 and real estate owned by the bank which cost $35,000. He said the cause of the assignment was loans made before he became president four years ago.
