UNITED STATES CIRCUIT COURT-CHIEF JUSTICE CHASE PRESIDING.-The case of The Merchants National Bank of Baltimore vs. Bank of the Valley of Virginia was on Saturday argued by General Bradley Johnson and Governor Wells for the plaintiffs, and by Alexander Hunter, Esq., for the defence, and continued for a further hearing. The case of Palmer, Hartsook & Co. vs. William James was removed from the Circuit Court of the city of Richmond, on a writ of certiorari, to this court. C. S. Parsons & Sons vs. Wolf Jacobs: jury waived, and the case submitted to the court. Judgment for the plaintiff in the sum of 8531.15: The Chief Justice informed the bar that the docket would be called again to-day in order to try those cases in which the presence of two judges is desired. George W. Scott, of New York, has introduced a suit in this court against the Farmers Bank of Fincastle with a view to the appointment of a receiver for that bank.
