NEWS FROM BOYDS. BOYDS, Md., Nov. 7.-Two weddings took place in Washington this week in which Montgomery county people figured. The first was that of William O. Soper, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Soper, of Clarksburg, north of Boyds, to Miss Mary S. Duvall, daughter of Frank Duvall, of Damascus, this county. The ceremony was performed in presence of few friends of both families, and after the ceremony they returned to Boyds, and from here to Clarksburg, where they will make their home. The second marriage was that of Edward L. Chiswell, a young farmer of Dickersons, who wedded Miss Naomi W. North, a well-known young lady of Washington, the ceremony taking place at the bride's home in the presence of several friends of the groom from this county, and of Miss North in Washington. Mr. Chiswell is the son of Edward Chiswell, of Dickersons. Mr. and Mrs. Chiswell, after the wedding, went to Dick rsons, where they will make their future home. The condition of George Bennet, who was injured by being run over by his wagon, is yet precamous, and only at times does he regalti consclousness, and that for a few moments. His injury is confined to the head, and is internal. Snow fell here for swhile yesterday and a raw wind made the weather disagreeable. The failure of the banking firm of Jones & Co., of Mount Airy, caught a number of farmers in the community of Damascus, this county, ten miles from Boyds. Many of them suffered heavily, and also some of the merchants of that section of Montgomery county. Mr. Jones claims he will pay dollar for dollar.
