TOPEKA, Kas., Aug. 29.-As the result of a rumor to the effect that the condition of the Bank of Topeka was shaky there was a run on that institution today. At opening time this morning depositors began drawing out their money and the rush continued until time for the bank to close this afternoon.

TOPEKA, Kans., Aug. 29.-As the result of a rumor circulated by unknown parties to the effect that the condition of the Bank of Topeka was shaky there was a run on that bank to-day. At opening time this morning depositors began drawing out their money, and the rush continued until time for the bank to close this afternoon. Those who withdrew their money were all small depositors, and there is no indication that the run will have a serious effect upon the bank.
