2 TEX. BANKS ON LIQUIDATED LIST
Receiverships End in Waco, Mathis Institutions, U. S. Comptroller Says.
WASHINGTON, Oct. 10 (AP). โ Two Texas banks were included today in the list of 18 which Comptroller of the Currency J. F. T. O'Connor said had completed liquidation of their receiverships during September.
One was the Provident National Bank of Waco and the other was the First National Bank of Mathis.
The Waco bank had been in receivership since March 26, 1927, the liabilities of the institution having been assumed by another bank. A receiver was appointed to collect an assessment against stockholders to cover a deficiency in assets sold. Disbursements during the receivership, including offsets allowed, O'Connor said, totaled $281,643, or 93.333 per cent of the total liabilities.
